Alan, why did you say:

How is it possible that they do not know? We have seen many many israeli news articles talking about it; seen the results of a poll where 94% of israelis wanted the Palestinian people wiped out entirely in the last incursion.

I am afraid that this is a point that I cannot agree with you on. I believe there is too much information showing otherwise.

On Gideon Levy’s quote:

“Gideon describes his “modest mission” as being “to prevent a situation in which many Israelis will be able to say ‘We didn’t know.”

This is straight to the heart of what I have been been doing as well. I ask all people to support this point.

We on this site are all appalled by Israel’s past and continued treatment of of the Palestinians, and I think Europe’s shame at the Holocaust did have a lot to do with the Zionists’ original support. But I’m a little confused and disturbed by some of my co-readers’ comments, which seem close to me to downright Holocaust denial.

Have I misunderstood the comments and Sami’s Panorama link?

We Know that the World is Tired of Hearing About the Holocaust ..And For One f. reason. Because it has been used For almost a century As An excuse for The jewish people to DO What Is being done To the Palestinians..( Who Do they Think They are Fooling ? An Excuse..one that is Just Not Flying. How can THEY Commit the same kinds of atrocities They are guilty of doing To the People in Gaza ( Where they have imprisoned them ?)>>When It is So Clear Who is the Aggressor and The Instigator there ? This is the Kind of Action Coming from this Place they have Taken over and now dare call israel..( By Murders And Confiscations Of A Land That Can Not, and Never will belong to These Zionist jews Who have moved in and Taken physical possession of this land. I applaud Rehmat for his comment.

ALSO, I am afraid I don’t buy the holocaust, never did, never will, to justify the theft of Palestine or anyone justifying his or her existence at the expense of other people. Besides, the design on Palestine preceded the claim of the horrors of WWII by several decades. Only the truth will set mankind free, and the truth is being gradually seeping through. As for the Israelis themselves, their only hope for survival in the heart of the Arab world is to make peace with the indigenous people of the region on the latter’s terms, i.e. not through the barrel of a gun or committal of the most gruesome inhuman war crimes in the hope of subjugation through fear.

I’m afraid, Gideon Levi has a lot of dirty laundry to hide when it comes to Israeli war on Iran.

In 2010, in an Op-Ed in Ha’aretz, he came up with a sinister plan to bring a pro-Israel regime change in Tehran.

Levi suggested that the Zionist regime should stop pushing Washington to bomb Iran for Israel’s sake – and instead co-operate in the establishment a Palestinian state under Fatah and negotiate peace with Syria (by withdrawing from the Golan Heights). This will isolate Iran from Palestinians, Syrian and bring Turkey back to Israeli lap. Thus, Islamic Republic will be left only with Hizbullah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad as is allies in the region (as all the Arab puppet regimes are afraid of Islamists).

Gideon Levy also warned that the hawkish Jewish plan to bomb Iran would be disastrous for the Zionist entity.

“Iran is dangerous; an Iran that is bombed will be even more dangerous. The regime in Iran is stable; the regime after a bombing will be even more stable. Anyone who wants to strengthen it is invited to bomb. Anyone who wants to unite the Iranian people even more behind its leadership is invited to threaten and attack. Anyone who wants to spur on Iran even more to get a nuclear bomb is invited to intimidate it. Even the last of the ayatollahs knows the truth: If Afghanistan or Iraq had an atomic bomb, the United States would not have dared to invade them, and their regimes would have been spared,” wrote Gideon Levi.
