Open letter to President Obama: Your legacy
The first and prime duty of any president is to serve and protect America’s own best interests. Support for Israel right or wrong (an Israel that can be described today as a racist, going-fascist, out-of-control monster) is not in America’s own best interests. It is a major factor in the radicalization of the entire Arab and wider Muslim world which contains roughly a quarter of the human population of Planet Earth. A truth is that the vast majority of all Arabs and other Muslims would prefer to be America’s friends but American policy is turning them into enemies. With their war on Iraq “Dubya” Bush and Tony Blair became the best recruiting sergeants for violent Islamic fundamentalism in all its forms. By continuing, if only by default not design, to allow Israel to act with impunity in defiance of international law you, Mr. President, are helping to create an environment which will assist the growth of violent Islamic fundamentalism. (Yes, I know that’s what the neo-cons and probably some within the Military Industrial Complex want).
Like many Arabs and other Muslims I don’t know whether to laugh or cry when I hear some of your statements. When, for example, you announced new sanctions on Russia, you said, “We stand up for rights and freedoms around the world.” Should you not have added “with the exception of the rights and freedoms of the Palestinians”?
And please, Mr. President, consider the following very, very seriously.
If Israel continues on its present course there is a real possibly that at some point in the foreseeable future the rising, global tide of anti-Israelism will be transformed into anti-Semitism, leading to Holocaust II, my shorthand for another great turning against Jews everywhere.
If that happens it will be not only because the policies and actions of Israel’s leaders awakened the sleeping giant of anti-Semitism. (In my view this giant would most likely have died in its sleep after and because of the Nazi holocaust if Zionism had not been allowed by the major powers to have its way in Palestine). If there is another great turning against Jews everywhere it will also be because successive American presidents did not use the leverage only they have to require Israel to live in accordance with international law and the norms of civilized nation state behaviour in general, and to respect the rights and freedoms of the Palestinians in particular.
Do you want that on your conscience, Mr. President?
I am, of course, aware that after the upcoming mid-term elections your main concern in what is left of your presidency will be your legacy. If on policy for Israel-Palestine you remain a prisoner of a political system corrupted by election campaign funding, I don’t think it, your legacy, will be one that you could be proud about.
But it would be an entirely different story if as I have suggested you broke out of prison by launching and leading a campaign to give your country some real democracy. If you set the necessary process in motion. and if then enough of your fellow citizens played their necessary part in keeping it going to a successful conclusion, you would go down in history as one of the greatest American presidents and arguably the greatest of them all. And you would be respected and admired by the citizens of the world instead of being seen by an increasing number of them as you are at present – a Zionist stooge (a reluctant one I believe) and a joke.

P.S. There’s a question I’d like to ask you about Netanyahu in the light of his absurd statements of justification for Israel’s latest war on the Gaza Strip. (I think his single most obnoxious statement was his endorsement of the assertion made by Elie Wiesel – that “Hamas engages in child sacrifice.”) My question has a context.
Way back in 1980 I had conversations with the best and the brightest of Israel’s former Directors of Military Intelligence. (I name him in my book). I said to him over coffee one morning that I had come to the conclusion that it was all a myth. What I meant and went on to say was that Israel’s existence had never, ever, been in danger from any combination of Arab force. Through a sad smile he replied, “The trouble with us Israelis is that we have become the victims of our own propaganda.”
Netanyahu is obviously a victim of his own propaganda. But is there more to it than that? Is he deluded to the point of clinical madness? In other words, is he insane?

Let me introduce to you as an Indian citizen, living in India. I am a keen follower of Israel,palastenian conflict. I read Your open letter to president Obama of USA. The letter contain full of historical facts and an eye opener for those who supports the Israeli’s atrocities committed on the people of palastine. I hope and pray, your open letter to president Obama will serve its purpose and the good sense will prevail upon the presidency. To conclude, it was a purposeful letter with full of facts.But those who are pretending to sleep, it is very difficult to wake them up. Let us see.

Dear Hart, Barack Ben Obama is not “prisoner” of AIPAC controlled Congress. In fact, many Jewish and Christian law-makers and political analyst believe Mr. Obama is the “First Jewish President” of the United States.

Alan, you are being naive in making such appeals. Like some of his predecessors, Obama is a prisoner of the Zionists who in all probability have a hold over him from his past. He is ambitious and not likely to consider going against Zionist interests as he knows its control of the US media, which has the power to make or break any US political figure. You also do not seem to be fully aware of the impact of pro-Jewish ideas on many Christian sects, in England itself but to a much greater extent in America, developed over centuries. I am afraid you have also overlooked the fact that the Palestine issue is rooted in time, not only in the legacy of the Crusades but also in the struggle between Europe and the Ottomans. The Balfour Declaration and British General Allenby’s remarks at the time of his triumphal entry in Jerusalem after World War I are proof enough. Britain is fully complicit in the whole episode and continues to be a partner in crime. The entire game plan is much larger and based on a deep strategy to gain and retain control of material and human resources through establishment of a New World Order with US-European hegemony.

Alan, your letter to the President of the United States is indeed “lofty” to say the least. Other presidents (going back to at least 100 years) have been controlled by sinister forces such as AIPAC and the ADL, who have been orchestrating their plan for world domination, and continue to this day. The conflict between those who call themselves “true Israelites” and the Arab world goes back even further, as the Bible records the historical conflict between Jacob and Esau.
Regardless of who these sinister forces who continue to bomb innocent children in Gaza are known to be today, Jesus Christ addressed the truth to their forefathers during many of His confrontations with them. He made it perfectly clear to them that the only way they will ever achieve any true freedom and rest from the turmoils that all humans will experience in life’s journey, is to conduct themselves His way, or they will perish. The outright aggression by Israel’s IDF is most certainly not His way to solve any type of conflict.
Therefore, whether President Obama or Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is the acknowledged leader (or puppet) of this Pharisaical Cabal intent on destroying mankind as we know it today, their destiny of doom is right around the corner. No appeal to their hearts nor conscience will avail much. They have to hit bottom before they recognize there is someone with greater power and authority to set things straight, and to redeem the innocent victims of the atrocities they are committing against their fellow human beings.
Jesus explained it all quite simply in His speech to their forefathers. Others have tried in vain to reach their hearts as well throughout the last two thousand years to no avail, your latest appeal notwithstanding, here is what Jesus told them, which still holds true to this day:
31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
33 They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”
34 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. 37 I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word. 38 I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence, and you are doing what you have heard from your father.”
39 “Abraham is our father,” they answered.
“If you were Abraham’s children,” said Jesus, “then you would do what Abraham did. 40 As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. 41 You are doing the works of your own father.”
“We are not illegitimate children,” they protested. “The only Father we have is God himself.”
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. 43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? 47 Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God, ( John 8:31-47).”
Sadly Alan, nothing has changed the hearts of these people, and nothing you nor I can say or request (or appeal to President Obama) will have any affect, either. True and everlasting peace does not appear in the immediate horizon. Humanity, whatever portion will remain as we get closer to World War 3 (as always) will learn the truth the hard way.

I applaud your effort, but regrettably, it will fall on deaf ears when one considers the reaction of Obama to the false news of capture of an invading Israeli officer. He labeled the most basic legitimate act of resistance as an act of barbarism!!! When one looks at the statistics of casualties on both sides, where Israel killed (more than 1900 civilians including the disabled, women and children; Israeli deaths were 66 military personnel and 3 civilians) anyone with an iota of decency could not possibly blame the real victims as Obama did. Besides, I don’t think he has a death wish or the moral rectitude to oppose his handlers’ diktat that would not tolerate anything other than blind subservience to Zionism.

Alan, I have had the same hopeful fantasy, that as our first black president Obama will want to distinguish himself in history and there would be no better way. In addition, I suspect that nothing would feel sweeter than revenge for Netanyahu’s several arrogant humiliations of the US government including the command performance of a joint session of Congress to deliver 29 standing ovations to 29 transparent lies that every legislator knew were lies transforming them into robotic fools.
